A dynamic team specializing in advanced electronic warfare and multi-function systems is seeking a talented FPGA Lead Design Engineer. This role focuses on the design, development, and testing of cutting-edge systems, including coding, simulation, synthesis, place and route, and verification testing.  Key Responsibilities 

-          Lead an FPGA design team in implementing and verifying complex designs for large FPGA devices. 

-          Perform simulation, synthesis, and placement using tools such as ModelSim, Synplicity, Xilinx Vivado/ISE, or Altera Quartus. 

-          Utilize laboratory debug techniques with signal generators, digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, BERTs, and other measurement devices. 

-          Achieve timing closure in large FPGAs. 

-          Implement industry-standard interfaces (e.g., Ethernet, SPI, UART, SDRAM, DDR3, JESD, PCIe). 

-          Apply advanced techniques in modulation, demodulation, digital filters, forward error correction, and electronic warfare. 

 

 Basic Qualifications 

-          Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with at least 7 years of experience. 

-          In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of related software engineering experience. 

 

 Preferred Skills 

-          Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. 

-          9+ years of FPGA design experience, particularly in Digital Signal Processing. 

-          Leadership experience in FPGA design projects. 

-          Proficiency in VHDL (preferred) or Verilog. 

-          Expertise in implementing signal processing for Electronic Support and Electronic Attack systems. 

-          Skilled in designing with high-speed serial interfaces (3+ Gbps). 

-          Familiarity with revision management tools like Git or ClearCase. 

-          Experience with C/C++/C# and Matlab/Simulink. 

 

 Compensation and Benefits 

-          Salary range: $129,500 - $240,500 (final offer depends on experience and location).

Qualifications:

 

As an electrical engineer specializing in Undersea Systems, you will collaborate within a cross-functional team to develop cutting-edge Undersea Communication systems. Preferred skills and experiences include:

 

-          Proficiency in power systems/module design, spanning various power topologies from low to high power converters.

-          Strong grasp of power system architecture, grounding, and transmission line effects.

-          Expertise in magnetics design and isolated switching converters.

-          Sound understanding and application of electrical engineering CAD tools and mixed-signal circuit analysis/design.

-          Extensive experience in analog design, instrumentation, and feedback/control systems.

-          Familiarity with EMI test and control methods (MIL-STD-461, FCC/IDE/VDE, etc.).

-          Ability to troubleshoot effectively using specialized laboratory equipment like spectrum analyzers and oscilloscopes.

-          Proven track record in writing specifications, requirements, and verification procedures for complex electronic systems.

-          Stay updated with technology trends, with a background in research and development (R&D).

-          Proficient in leading design teams, fostering innovation, and facilitating effective communication.

-          Committed to ongoing professional development and willing to travel as required.
