Responsibilities

  • The Operating Room RN plays a critical role in ensuring optimal patient care and safety in the operating room

  • They are responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care of patients within the surgical setting

  • Operating Room RNs collaborate closely with surgeons, anaesthesiologists, and surgical technologists to provide high-quality, personalized care to each patient

  • Assessing patients' condition before, during, and after surgeries

  • Preparing the operating room and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly

  • Assisting the surgical team during procedures

  • Monitoring patients' vital signs

  • Administering medications

  • Documenting all aspects of patient care

  • Coordinating patient care with other members of the surgical team

  • Providing education and support to patients and their families

  • Participating in emergency response and crisis management

  • Ensuring adherence to infection control protocols

  • Collaborating in interdisciplinary team meetings

Job Responsibilities

 

Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.

Documents patient care given.

Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.

Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.

Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Qualifications

 

As a Registered Nurse / RN you will have:

 

• Graduated with an Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program as a Registered Nurse / RN.

 

• Current state licensure as Registered Nurse / RN.

 

• BLS certification is required. ACLS preferred

 

 

Shift - 7PM - 7AM, rotating weekends
