What You’ll Do:

  • Precision Machining: Set up and operate a variety of machines such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses to manufacture high-precision parts to exact specifications.

  • Advanced Welding & Soldering: Utilize your welding skills across all materials and provide critical repairs to complex mechanisms.

  • Quality Control: Measure and verify part dimensions using advanced tools such as micrometers and height gauges, ensuring all products meet rigorous standards.

  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Assist with preventive maintenance, troubleshoot machinery issues, and support the smooth operation of high-tech equipment.

  • Collaborative Innovation: Work closely with a highly skilled team to improve processes, troubleshoot, and meet production deadlines. Contribute ideas for process improvements that elevate efficiency and quality.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Education & Experience: A High School Diploma or GED, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience as a machinist. Ideal candidates will also have experience with CNC machine programming.

  • Machining Expertise: Proficiency in manual machining, including lathe and mill work, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Advanced Technical Skills: Experience writing machine code and familiarity with tools like FeatureCAM and various CNC controllers is highly desirable.

  • Shift Flexibility: Ability to work a variety of shifts, including 12-hour night shifts. This includes a schedule of 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, and 3 days off.

  • Hands-On Skills: Experience with both manual and CNC machining, welding, and precision part design or repair.

Preferred Candidate Qualifications:

 

- Thorough knowledge of machine shop equipment

- At least 5 years of experience working with manual lathes, mills, and grinders

- Good working knowledge of all types of CNC equipment

- Prior experience in assembly or fabrication work using blueprints

- A technical degree in Machine Shop is preferred

- Ability to work with minimal supervision

- Willingness to work overtime, including weekends and holidays, as needed

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

- Operate and program an NC Mill

- Proficient in G-code or conversational programming

- Set up machines and create fixtures for individual parts

- Knowledge of speeds and feeds for different materials and tooling

- Proficient in reading standard and metric blueprints, with an understanding of GD&T

- Check own parts using machine shop measuring instruments (OD/ID micrometers, calipers, depth micrometers, scales, tape measure)

- Proficient in basic math and geometry

- Experience with programming software (e.g., Esprit, MasterCam) is preferred

- Maintain safe operation by adhering to safety procedures and regulations

- Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs to shift partner

- Ability to move between machines or job assignments when workload shifts
